2 rescued after box truck crashes into wooded area in Fairborn

Two people were rescued by fire crews after a crash trapped them inside a box truck in Fairborn Wednesday morning.

The crash was reported on Kauffman Road near Zink Road around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday.

State troopers said the box truck was traveling north on Zink Road when it continued straight through the intersection with Kauffman Road. The box truck came to rest in a wooded area and trapped the driver and a passenger inside the truck.

Both occupants were rescued but only suffered minor injuries, according to state troopers.

Investigators are not sure why the truck wasn’t able to stop at the stop sign and continued into the wooded area.

Troopers from the Xenia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.
