The Montgomery County Fairgrounds historic grandstand sustained damage in Wednesday night’s storm.

Viewed from South Main Street, it appears a large chunk of the grandstand’s south facade ripped from the building.

Montgomery County Agricultural Society Director Greg Wallace said staff will assess the damage Thursday morning.

“We’ll get building people out there tomorrow and get an official determination,” Wallace said.

The 2017 fair is expected to be held at the historic location before moving to Jefferson Twp. for 2018. The University of Dayton and Premier Health are currently under agreement to purchase the Dayton property.
