Fire officials say this year’s activities will include bounce houses for children, fire hoses with water to spray, foam fun, tanker bucket brigade, technical rope rescues, the Jaws of Life and tours of fire apparatus used by the Washington Twp. Fire Department.

A CareFlight helicopter also will make a landing, with kids and adults invited to take a look inside.

In addition to ice cream, the menu includes hand-grilled barbecue chicken, hamburgers, slaw, baked beans and grilled corn-on-the-cob.

Proceeds earned from past Ice Cream Socials have been used to purchase new 2-way radios, tone-activated radio systems, firefighting tools, EMS equipment, and safety products. It most recently supplied all frontline apparatus with GPS units to enhance response times, new LED flashlights, and CO monitors to help increase crew safety.

Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Ice Cream Social for a large assortment of prizes donated by local and area merchants. Tickets also are at www.wtffa.org. Download tickets, mail them, or bring them on the day of the event.

Proceeds from the Ice Cream Social will benefit the Washington Twp. Fire Department.
