The region’s newest McAlister’s Deli could be open in as little as four months in the same building in The Village At Dayton Mall that also houses Bravo and Rustic Bucket restaurants, the local McAlister’s Deli franchisee, Amardeep Sidhu, told this news outlet.
The 4,000-square-foot space will seat about 140 to 145. Sidhu said he expects to hire 55 to 60 employees. If plans are approved, construction could begin within the next two to three weeks, the franchise owner said.
The Village at Dayton Mall location was attractive because it is highly visible, close to growing communities, and surrounded by strong retail businesses, Sidhu said.
Sidhu operates two McAlister’s in the region: on Pentagon Boulevard near the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek, which opened in November 2014; and on Miller Lane in Butler Twp., which opened in Augut 2015. And he’s looking for more.
“We are looking to open two more in the next two years,” Sidhu said, identifying Troy and perhaps the Kettering area as potential sites for expansion.
Robert Zavakos, senior vice president of the commercial real estate firm NAI Bergman, represented McAlister’s Deli in the lease transaction and confirmed he is looking at sites for a potential location in Troy.
Atlanta-based McAlister’s operates more than 360 restaurants in 28 states. Its menu includes sandwiches, soups, salads, Spuds (loaded baked potatoes), desserts and sweet tea. The restaurants also offer catering.
The restaurant research and data firm Technomic named McAlister’s as the top kid-friendly fast casual chain in its 2014 Chain Restaurant Consumers’ Choice Awards, and the restaurant industry web site FastCasual.com ranked the chain no. 2 on its “Top 100 Movers and Shakers” list of 2013.
