Congresswoman from Dayton named one of ‘most beautiful’ on Capitol Hill

Ohio apparently, constitutes a pretty good proportion of the beauty on Capitol Hill.

Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, D-Columbus, and Brooks Keefer, a Reynoldsburg native who works for Rep. Pat Tiberi, R-Genoa Twp., are two of Capitol newspaper The Hill’s “50 Most Beautiful People.”

Beatty was born in Dayton and was cited because of her distinctive white hair and her fashion sense. The stroke survivor is known for wearing a “killer pair of pumps,” according to the article, which also notes that Beatty loves boating with her husband, Otto.

Keefer, 26, a legislative assistant for Tiberi, has one of the more interesting biographies of the 50. The article describes him as a boxer and wrestling coach, as well as a part-time driver for Uber car service.

Beatty and Keefer were picked from nearly 400 entries, with those eligible limited to members of Congress, congressional staffers, campaign aides, lobbyists, other Capitol Hill personnel and executive branch employees.

Past Ohioans tapped among the “50 Most Beautiful People” on the Hill include former Rep. Betty Sutton, D-Barberton, Democratic fundraiser Erica Price of Beavercreek, Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and former Sen. George V. Voinovich spokeswoman Garrette Silverman.
