More than 1,000 pages of newly released transcripts from Turner's trial detail accounts of the incident. The documents were obtained by The Guardian Friday.
"I noticed that he was smiling. So I said, 'Why are you smiling? Stop smiling,'" said Peter Jonsson, one of two Stanford graduate students who intervened when they caught Turner lying on top of the woman.
Jonsson said Turner attempted to run away before he and the other grad student stopped him.
"I said, again, 'What are you doing? She's unconscious,'" Jonsson testified.
Turner, 22, testified that he "was laughing at the situation of how ridiculous it was," according to documents.
Turner was found guilty of sexual assault in March.
Police said Turner attacked his victim after they attended the same party on Jan. 18, 2015. Turned admitted to digitally penetrating the intoxicated woman behind a dumpster near a fraternity house on campus. He has denied that she was unconscious and unresponsive.
In June, Judge Aaron Persky sentenced Turner to six months in prison, but he will be released Friday after serving only three months of his sentence.
