A San Francisco company is changing the way it does business and it’s starting with where its employees live.

Zapier, a workflow automation company based in the Bay City, is offering what is being called a de-location package to new employees, Forbes reported.

In essence, Zapier is letting its new hires live wherever they want, and will foot the bill for the move away from headquarters.

The company officials explained in a press release that they realized that San Francisco isn't the mecca for all tech-minded people. The city is expensive to live in. So instead of forcing new hires to pack up and move to home base, they're allowing their workers to set up an office wherever works for them, all in an effort to contribute to the work-life balance.

Zapier will also pay up to $10,000 to relocate workers and families to outside the San Francisco area.

The only catch is the decision to move must be made and completed within the first three months of employment and you must stay with the company for at least a year. For the time being, it is only being offered to those who currently live in San Francisco and want to move away while still working for Zapier.
