The newest Firehouse Subs was built out at 5239 Cornerstone North Blvd. in a “Shoppes at Cornerstone” multi-tenant retail center in front of Costco Wholesale off Wilmington Pike. The 1,800-square-foot sub shop will employ about 35, Fryman has said.
The restaurant’s franchisee, Dave Baker, also operates the Firehouse Subs on Far Hills Avenue in Kettering. The sandwich chain also operates sub shops in Oakwood near the University of Dayton campus and on Old Troy Pike in Huber Heights, along with the Englewood restaurant coming to Ohio 48 near I-70.
Baker said today that in addition to broadening the dining options in the Centerville area, the new restaurant will give back to the community through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which provides life-saving and safety equipment to fire departments.

The foundation, Baker said, “has had a significant impact on the Miami Valley” by donating $172,000 in equipment grants to 12 local Fire and Police departments since Firehouse Subs debuted in Dayton in 2013.
“This is really a story about how generous the Dayton Firehouse Subs customers have been and their commitment to honoring our hometown heroes by rounding up at the register,” Baker said. “This is a big accomplishment for our area in just four short years.”
Fryman told this news outlet in 2012 that he planned to open as many as nine locations in southwest Ohio of the Jacksonville, Florida-based Firehouse Subs chain. Firehouse specializes in hot subs and also serves salads, chili and other sandwiches in an atmosphere that evokes an old-fashioned firehouse.
