New Fusian Sushi restaurant coming to Beavercreek sets target date

Fusian Sushi — the budding restaurant chain founded by three Oakwood natives — expanded its statewide footprint last week with the opening of its first Toledo-area restaurant, and it is gearing up to open its Beavercreek location in the coming weeks.

The Beavercreek restaurant — located near Bravo! Cucina Italiana in front of the Mall at Fairfield Commons — is tentatively scheduled to open May 1, a spokesman for Fusian Sushi said this morning, March 10.

Fusian operates 11 restaurants in the Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus, and now Toledo areas, including a location on Brown Street near the University of Dayton and in Washington Twp. next to Whole Foods.

Last week’s Toledo opening was a success: the restaurant served 684 guests and raised over $1,400 for a Toledo-area nonprofit, a Fusian spokesman said.

Fusian Sushi was launched in Cincinnati in 2010 by Zach and Josh Weprin and Stephan Harman, who attended Oakwood’s Harman Elementary School and has talked as kids of going into business together, Stephan Harman told this news outlet in 2011.

After a relatively deliberate approach to growing the chain in its first four years, the trio doubled the number of locations in recent years as it expand into new markets of Cleveland and Toledo.
