Fusian offers fast-casual sushi and features sushi rolls and an "interactive, energetic environment." It will open early next year, and is being construced near Bravo! Cucina Italiana. There are 11 locations in Ohio now.

Launched in 2010 by Oakwood boyhood friends Zach and Josh Weprin and Stephan Harman, Fusian operates a restaurant on Brown Street near the University of Dayton, along with three in the Cincinnati area and one near Ohio State University in Columbus. Two more Columbus-area locations opened last August, and Weprin confirmed another Columbus-area location on High Street in the Clintonville neighborhood north of OSU.

The mall just started its second phase of redevelopment, focusing on the interior redesign of the facility. The large marble staircase that currently divides the space will be removed and a new floating staircase will be installed near JCPenney.

Center Court will be renovated, which includes the addition of a variety of shopper friendly amenities. The interior renovation features a contemporary facelift of that area.

"The Mall at Fairfield Commons is committed to providing visitors with the best possible shopping experience," said Kristie Miller, general manager at The Mall at Fairfield Commons. "The next phase of our ongoing redevelopment will make our Center Court more warm and inviting and provide our fashion-forward guests with even more conveniences as they shop, dine and spend time here with family and friends."

Construction is expected to be complete by late October. Phase one of the redevelopment project was completed in 2015.
