U.S. News names UD one of best ‘national universities’ in 2018 ranking

U.S. News & World Report has released its 2018 ranking of the nation’s best colleges and the University of Dayton has made the list.

UD was ranked No. 124 in the category of “National Universities” in an eight-way tie with the University of Arizona, the University of Nebraska, Colorado State University, University of California-Riverside, Clarkson University, Seton Hall University, Michigan Technological University. UD also received high marks in four other categories.

The university was ranked No. 73 as one of the country’s “Best Value Schools” while the business and engineering programs were also highly rated.

U.S. News surveyed more than 1,275 schools for statistical data used to determine the rankings and some additionally needed data was obtained through the National Center for Education Statistics. Information on financial resources, faculty, SAT and ACT scores, acceptance rates, six-year graduation rates and first-year retention rates were all considered, according to U.S. News.
