The Trump administration has not made an official announcement on its selection.
Holifield obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science from West Virginia University in 1988 before earning his masters degree in education from UC in 1993 and his law degree from UC in 1996, according to his LinkedIn profile. He currently lives in the Cleveland-Akron area, according to LinkedIn.
Holifield released a book in April called “The Future Economy and Inclusive Competitiveness.” He is also a blogger at the website The Huffington Post.

In February, the presidents of Central State University and Wilberforce University traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with president Donald Trump.
The college leaders, along with several others, met with the president to discuss HBCUs and how the administration could help boost and protect them.
