Eight members of the Miami Valley Fire District are being considered for promotions tonight.

The fire district’s board of trustees are set to confirm promoting the following firefighters to lieutenant: Brett Beach, Tobin Borger, Jr., Brady Creech, Brian Gedart, Neil Risner, Trent Shroyer, Steven Swoll, Jr., and Michael Wilcox.

The board oversees fire operations shared by Miami Twp. and Miamisburg. The fire district began five years ago on a trial basis and was made permanent this spring.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Canopy Creek, 600 Benner Road.
