Troy attorney suspended from practicing law

The Ohio Supreme Court suspended attorney Christopher R. Bucio from the practice of law Monday, Jan. 9, citing his felony conviction.

Bucio, 37, of Troy, pleaded guilty Nov. 30 in Shelby County Common Pleas Court to felony unauthorized use of property involving land obtained from a client in that county in 2010. Bucio was accused of taking 22 acres of land owned by a Shelby County woman in payment for legal representation, selling the land and keeping all the proceeds.

Bucio will be sentenced later this month on the fourth-degree felony charge, which carries of a maximum penalty of 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine. He practiced in the firm Roberts, Kelly and Bucio with offices in Miami, Shelby and other counties. He no longer is included in the firm, which is called Roberts and Kelly.
