Accreditation by CALEA is widely recognized as one of the high designations law enforcement agencies can earn. West Carrollton first gained accreditation in 1992, according to the city.

The on-site assessment will include public comments. Agency employees and members of the community can offer comments at a public information session.
That session will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the West Carrollton Civic Center Council Chambers, 300 E. Central Ave. The police department will also offer a “Pizza with Police” event from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the YMCA, 900 S. Alex Road.
If an individual cannot speak at the public information session but would still like to provide comments to the assessment team, he/she may do so by telephone by calling 937- 847-4667 from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Telephone comments, as well as appearances at the public information session are limited to 10 minutes, and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards.
