West Carrollton city officials are seeking to have the city be picked as the site of a $16 million expansion by the parent company of a manufacturer in the city.

City officials have been working with Misumi USA Inc., whose officials are interested in building a 50,000-square-foot facility to bring 20 jobs to the Dayton Progress Corp. site at 500 Progress Road, records show.

The city council on Tuesday night approved a measure for West Carrollton to seek $200,000 in funding from Montgomery County for the expansion, which would be a “state of the art logistics/distribution facility” to “support multiple Misumi USA operations,” according to city records.

Misumi, which supports the factory automation machine industry, is also considering sites in Illinois and Michigan.
