A.J. Hawk’s time as a Falcon was brief.

Atlanta announced Tuesday it released the veteran linebacker to make room to sign running back Stevan Ridley.

Hawk, a Centerville native who starred at Ohio State, played one game for the Falcons after signing with them in early October.

He spent the 2015 season with the Bengals after nine with the Packers.
