Charles Cooke to play in front of NBA scouts this week

Former Dayton Flyers guard Charles Cooke will participate in the Professional Basketball Combine at IMG Academy on Tuesday and Wednesday in Bradenton, Fla.

This is a new event. Twenty two players, including Cincinnati’s Troy Caupain and Xavier’s Malcolm Bernard, will attend. Scouts from 15 teams are expected to attend.

Cooke, of Trenton, N.J., played two seasons with the Flyers. He led them in scoring with 15.6 points per game in 2015-16 and 15.8 points per game last season.

Cooke and fellow Dayton guard Scoochie Smith played at the Portsmouth Invitational in April. Neither received an invitation to last week's NBA Draft Combine, which featured 67 top prospects.
