Cassidy Brown doubled on the first pitch he saw in the 11th inning, then later scored after West Michigan pitcher Drew Longley’s passed ball to give the Dayton Dragons a 4-3 win in the first round of the Midwest League playoffs.

The Dragons led 3-1 going into the bottom of the ninth after Michael Beltre scored in the top of the inning after an error. Aaron Fossas was brought in to close the game, but after getting the first two hitters out, he loaded the bases and West Michigan tied it after a throwing error allowed two WhiteCaps runners to score..

The WhiteCaps left 30 men on base and struck out 15 times - the Dragons left 20 on base and struck out 16 times.

Dayton will travel today and begin the best-of-3 Eastern Division Championship series against Fort Wayne.
