The Dayton Flyers huddle before a game against Ball State on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at UD Arena.

The University of Dayton expects approximately 1,000 fans of the Dayton Flyers to attend games at the Charleston Classic, a spokesman said Wednesday. Dayton also sold 1,000 tickets for the tournament in 2012, the last time it played in Charleston.

Dayton (1-0) opens the tournament at 7:30 p.m. Thursday against Hofstra (2-0). ESPNU will televise the game.

Auburn (1-0) plays Indiana State (1-0) in the first game at 11:30 a.m. (ESPN). Old Dominion (2-0) plays Temple (0-0) at 1:30 p.m. (ESPN3). Ohio (1-0) plays Clemson (2-0) at 5 p.m. (ESPN2).

"We'll get a chance to see a lot of different styles of play in a different environment just in terms of not being at home," Dayton coach Anthony Grant said. "We're going on the road for the first time as a young team."

Dayton will play Ohio or Clemson on Friday at 7 p.m. (ESPNEWS) or 9:30 (ESPNU).

The Flyers practiced on Wednesday at TD Bank Arena, where all the games are being held. They attended a banquet on the USS Yorktown battleship on Wednesday night.
