The Dayton Flyers will play on the main stage Friday in the NCAA tournament. Their first-round game against Wichita State in the first round will start at 7:10 p.m. on CBS.

Dayton (24-7) is a No. 7 seed. Wichita State (30-4) is a No. 10 seed. Dayton coach Archie Miller was surprised by both seeds, that his team was so high after two straight losses and that Wichita State was so low.

Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall was not happy about his team’s seed.

“They have to get rid of as many non-Power 5 teams as possible,” Marshall told the Wichita Eagle. “They have us against Dayton, and I think VCU vs. Saint Mary’s if I’m not mistaken. But again, I’m glad we’re in.

“I’m just glad they didn’t forget about us. I was starting to think they may forget about us and we wouldn’t get in at all. We have a chance to go to Indianapolis and play Dayton. I’ve admired their program for years, and I’m familiar with their arena. We played there last year and their fans were very hospitable.”
