Dayton sixth-ranked A-10 team in national rating

Lowest ranking for Flyers in preseason since 2013

The Dayton Flyers rank 103rd in the preseason Ken Pomeroy ratings, which were released Sunday. It's their lowest preseason ranking since 2013, when they began the season 107th and finished 67th.

KenPom.com predicts Dayton will finish 16-12 (that record doesn’t count the two unknown opponents in the Charleston Classic) and 10-8 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Dayton ranks sixth among A-10 teams, trailing No. 62 Rhode Island, No. 66 St. Joseph’s, No. 77 St. Bonaventure, No. 83 Virginia Commonwealth and No. 86 Davidson.

Richmond ranks 113th and is followed by No. 137 La Salle, No. 143 George Washington, No. 168 Saint Louis, No. 169 George Mason, No. 176 Massachusetts, No. 190 Fordham and No. 234 Duquesne. The A-10 ranks eighth among 32 conferences.

Dayton’s top-ranked non-conference opponent is No. 30 Saint Mary’s. The rankings of UD’s other opponents are: No. 46 Auburn; No. 59 Mississippi State; No. 120 Hofstra; No. 136 Georgia State; No. 139 Ball State; No. 144 Penn; No. 180 Akron; No. 237 Tennessee Tech; and No. 297 Wagner.

Last year, Dayton began the season ranked No. 37 and ended the season at No. 39.
