The Dayton Dragons announced they will be installing additional safety netting around Fifth Third Field.

The new netting will extend from behind home plate to protect all of the fixed seating areas of the stadium from foul balls, officials said.

The netting will also be five feet taller than the existing netting to protect fans in the upper deck and suite seating, officials said.

The announcement comes following recommendations from both Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball.
