Dyshawn Pierre gets chance with hometown team

Former Dayton Flyers forward one of 23 players in Toronto Raptor’s free-agent camp

Former Dayton Flyers forward Dyshawn Pierre will participate in the Toronto Raptors’ free-agent camp Thursday and Friday, the Raptors announced Wednesday.

Pierre, a native of Whitby, Ont., was one of 23 players invited. Pierre played in Germany last season and led the top league in rebounding. He averaged 7.9 rebounds in 32 games for Lowen Braunschweig.

Pierre, who finished his career at UD in 2016 with 1,145 points, ranked 12th in the league with 14.9 points per game.
