ESPN expert to Hartsock: Flyers need to move fast on Archie Miller replacement

In an exclusive interview with Mike Hartsock, former Dayton Flyers color commentator and Central Connecticut head coach Mark Adams gave his insight on UD’s search for a new coach after the departure of Archie Miller to Indiana University on Saturday.

Adams said he believes the Flyer athletic director Neil Sullivan will make a good choice, and will act quick.

“I have high confidence he’ll make the right hire, but the buzzards are circling around Dayton, Ohio, looking at those recruits,” Adams said.

Adams said Indiana former head coach Tom Crean  is a possible candidate, as is former  Flyer and current Oklahoma City Thunder assistant Anthony Grant. But Adams said the Flyers would better suited hiring in house and endorsed current Flyer assistant Kevin Kuwik.

“If you look at what Butler was able to do over the course of the years, what Xavier and Gonzaga have done, they’ve kept that success by maintaining continuity,” Adams said. “I think this is how you keep that continuity and recipe for success. I think Dayton is at the level, of top programs in mid-major conferences like Gonzaga and Wichia State.
