After a year away from the game, former Dayton Flyers guard Vee Sanford will play in Germany this season.

Sanford signed a contract through the end of December with TG s.Oliver Wuerzburg in Germany’s Pro B League. Sanford started his pro basketball career with Thor Thorl in Iceland-Dominos League and then moved to Barrancabermeja Ciudad Futuro in Colombia for 20 games in 2015.

On Facebook, Sanford wrote, “Sitting out a year really makes you appreciate playing basketball once you get back to it. Words of advice. Don’t take it or your ability for granted. Enjoy every bit because any situation it can be taken. That being said. I’m enjoying every bit!”

Sanford was a senior in 2013-14 when Dayton reached the Elite Eight and hit the game-winning shot against Ohio State in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Here are some updates on other members of that team:

• Devin Oliver is averaging 9.7 points and 6.7 rebounds for Union Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenia.

• Dyshawn Pierre is averaging 10.1 points and 5.4 rebounds for Loewen Braunschweig in Germany.

• Jordan Sibert is averaging 7.8 points and 2.3 rebounds for PAOK Thessaloniki in Greece.

• Jalen Robinson is averaging 11.8 points and 8.7 rebounds for KK Vrijednosnice Osijek in Croatia.
