Former Dayton Flyers to play against each other in Germany

Sanford, Pierre both playing well in first seasons with new teams

Two former Dayton Flyers will play each other for the first time Sunday in the top professional basketball league in Germany.

Vee Sanford is averaging 11.3 points per game for s.Oliver Wurzburg. Dyshawn Pierre is averaging 13.8 points per game for Loewen Braunschweig.

Sanford closed his Dayton career in 2014 as the key sixth man for the Elite Eight team. He scored 735 points in two seasons. Pierre finished his career in 2016 with 1,423 points.

Both teams rank toward the bottom of the Basketball Bundesliga. Wurzburg is 8-21. Braunschweig is 6-23. The teams play at Wurzburg, which is 221 miles from Braunschweig.
