Former Dayton Flyers to play for $2 million prize

Three former Dayton Flyers will team up again in The Basketball Tournament,  a 64-team, single-elimination, $2 million winner-takes-all event next month.

Devin Oliver, Dyshawn Pierre and Vee Sanford are members of the Broad Street Brawlers. The team didn’t get enough fan votes to automatically qualify for the tournament but played their way into the field by winning the West Region in a play-in tournament, The Jamboree.

The Brawlers are a No. 9 seed in the West Region and will play No. 8 seed Trained To Go on July 15 in Las Vegas. If Broad Street advances to the Sweet 16, it will play July 20-23 in New York City in games televised on ESPN or ESPN 2. The semifinals and final are Aug. 1 and 3 in Baltimore and will be televised on ESPN.
