Sanford led the team with 24 points. Pierre scored 22. Oliver had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Sammie Zeglinski, who played at Virginia from 2007-12, scored 23. The Brawlers made 26 of 30 free throws.

The No. 9 seed Brawlers advanced to the second round of the West Region in Las Vegas, Nev. They will play No. 1 seed Team Colorado at 3:45 p.m. Sunday. The Brawlers have to win five more games to claim the $2 million winner-takes-all prize.
