RELATED: Coach Anthony Grant talks about the new guys
Tom Archdeacon provided a detailed look at Matej Svoboda.
Here is what you need to know about Jordan Pierce:
Position: Center
Measurements: 6-11, 265
Hometown: Scotch Plains, New Jersey
Noteworthy: The 17th-ranked player in his home state, he averaged 12.1 points and 9.5 rebounds per game as a senior at Union Catholic High School.
He broke a backboard in practice there.
How'd he get here? Pierce committed to the Flyers in September 2016 and signed his letter of intent while Archie Miller was still the coach. He chose to stick with UD after the coaching change in spring.

First impressions of Dayton and the Miami Valley: "It's been great. It's a little different from home. I'm used to going to the Jersey Shore when I want to, but I'm getting adjusted. I'm really cool with my teammates, bonding, it's a community. I'm really enjoying my time out here."
Pierce on Pierce: "I can run the floor. I'm athletic. I feel like I'm physical on the court, and it's never about me. It's about helping the team win."
Grant on Pierce: "He's learning what college basketball is all about. The thing I enjoy about him is he wants to be a good player. He's got good hands. He's got a soft touch around the basket. He's physically imposing. Every day is an opportunity for him to learn and get better and grow."
