Trotwood-Madison senior Torrey Patton and Versailles junior Justin Ahrens were named co-players of the year in their respective divisions for the All-Ohio boys high school basketball teams released by the Associated Press on Tuesday.

Patton is a repeat first-team Division II selection and Ahrens was named to the D-III first team.

DANNY DAVIS: Springfield sr. first team D-I All-Ohio

A 6-foot-4 guard, Patton led Trotwood in scoring (20.6 points), rebounding (9.1), assists (6.0) and steals (4.2) during the regular season and six games in the postseason. He has collected top All-Southwest District, Greater Western Ohio Conference and District 15 honors the past two seasons, also. Unsigned, Patton shared co-player of the year honors with Jayvon Graves of Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary.

D-I TEAMS: All-Ohio boys basketball

Powered by Patton and a deep and high-scoring lineup, Trotwood (26-2) has mounted a 13-game win streak that it'll take into Thursday's D-II state semifinal against Akron SVSM (23-5) at Ohio State University's Schottenstein Center in Columbus (2 p.m.).

D-II TEAMS: All-Ohio boys basketball

Ahrens, a 6-6 talented wing, averaged a team-high 23.4 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists for Versailles (25-2), which was defeated by Cincinnati Roger Bacon in a D-III regional semifinal. Versailles also won a Midwest Athletic Conference title, going 9-0.

A three-year starter, Ahrens has verbally committed to OSU. He shared D-III co-player of the year honors with Ethan Linder of Haviland Wayne Trace.

D-III TEAMS: All-Ohio boys basketball

Versailles coach Travis Swank also was named a tri-coach of the year in D-III. This was his first season as the Tigers’ coach. He shared that honor with Zach Ruth of Galion Northmor and Derek Edwards of Martins Ferry.

FIRST TEAM: Fairlawn’s Nathan Lessing

Alter senior Dominic Laravie was a second team D-II selection. The 6-6 center averaged 21.1 points in leading Alter (19-4) to its second straight outright Greater Catholic League Co-Ed North Division title, a first for the Knights.

D-IV TEAMS: All-Ohio boys basketball

High-scoring Bethel junior Caleb South also was a D-III second-team pick. He was among the area’s scoring leaders (24.6) and led the Bees (21-4) to the Cross County Conference championships.

The All-Ohio teams were based on all-district teams that were chosen by state-wide media panels. Players were nominated by coaches. The Division I All-Ohio teams and Mr. Basketball will be announced on Wednesday. Girls All-Ohio teams and Ms. Basketball were released last week.
