Reds lose utilityman they claimed last week to Giants

Utilityman Micah Johnson, claimed by the Reds off waivers from the Braves last week, on Monday was claimed off waivers by the Giants.

The Cincinnati Reds claimed utilityman Micah Johnson off waivers Thursday from the Atlanta Braves.

Johnson, 26, appeared in 18 games last season for the Braves, with two hits in 10 at-bats. He hit .289 in 40 games with the Braves' Triple-A affiliate in Gwinnett, but missed four months after suffering a broken wrist during Spring Training .

Johnson appeared in six games with the Dodgers in 2016. In 2015, he played in 36 games with the Chicago White Sox, hitting .230 (23 for 100).

Johnson played second base for Chicago, but has also played in the outfield the last two seasons. He was drafted by the White Sox in the ninth round in 2012.
