H.S. Results for 12/10: Miami Valley’s Karras just misses school record

Tia Karras scored 38 points, one away from the school single-game record, to lead Miami Valley School to a 74-56 high school girls basketball victory Saturday over Cincinnati Shroder.

Angela Bethel scored 39 points for Miami Valley in a 2005 game against Belmont.

Karras was 11-for-19 from the field with four 3-point goals.

Liz Bush added 20 points for the Rams (5-1), who led, 24-8, after one quarter. Shroder fell to 3-2.

Ansonia 54, Yellow Springs 48: Sophomore Trinity Henderson led Ansonia with 13 points.

Bellbrook 70, Franklin 45: Bekah Vine scored 21 points and Cassidy Hofacker 18 as Bellbrook handed Franklin its first conference loss. Layne Ferrell scored 14 for Franklin.

Bellefontaine 51, Urbana 41: Hunter Rogan (28 points, 9 rebounds, 7 steals) had a big game, but it wasn't enough to help her team to its first victory.

Carlisle 45, Madison 42: Madison was outscored, 17-6, in the fourth quarter while takings its first conference loss. Christa Harris scored 15 points to lead Carlisle (5-1, 3-1). Lillie Runnells scored 12 for Madison (2-1, 2-1).

Carroll 60, Roger Bacon 48: Carroll is now 5-0 behind Amanda Schroeder (35 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists).

Centerville 35, Fairmont 33: Alexis Hutchison scored 11 for the Elks (3-1), who rallied to win after trailing most of the evening on Sam Chable's free throws with 55 seconds to play.

Dixie 39, Brookville 34: Mckinlee Ruppert scored 14 and Faith Russell 10 as Dixie rallied in the second half.

Eaton 46, Oakwood 38: Ashlynn Black scored 15 and Bailee Worley 10 as Eaton (2-4, 1-2) earned its first Southwestern Buckeye League win.

Fort Recovery 44, Jay County 34: Whitney Hill and Jocelyn Kaiser combined for 27 points and 13 rebounds and Fort Recovery outscored the visitors, 21-8, in the fourth quarter.

Kenton Ridge 75, Graham 49: Jamari McDavid's 39 points, 7 rebounds and 9 steals helped Kenton Ridge to its Central Buckeye Conference win. Desiree Jones added 19. Kayla Tillis led Graham with 19 points.

Lebanon 58, Xenia 32: Lebanon coach Rob Hodges picked up his 100th career victory as his team improved to 5-0. Hodges is in his ninth season. Rachel Perry had 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Warriors.

Mechanicsburg 66, Catholic Central 18: Morgan Hamby scored 17 for Mechanicsburg (4-2, 2-0).

Miamisburg 58, Springfield 48: Emily Kepple led the Vikings (3-1, 1-0) with 26 points and 9 rebounds

Middletown Christian 76, Horizon Science 11: Middletown Christian rolled behind Aubriana Bellard's 29 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists.

Talawanda 61, Little Miami 50: Kaitlin Woodruff had 11 points and 19 rebounds as Talawanda (4-1) knocked off previously unbeaten Little Miami (4-1). Emma Wright contributed 15 points and 11 rebounds and Addie Brown sank 8 of 10 free throws to lead Talawanda with 16 points. Little Miami's Kara Wind had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Tecumseh 75, Springfield Shawnee 33: Four players scored in double figures for unbeaten Tecumseh (5-0) and Macy Berner pulled down 12 rebounds.

Versailles 67, Miami East 29: Danielle Winner (13), Elizabeth Ording (12) and Kami McEldowney (11) all reached double figures for Versailles. Haley Howard scored 11 for Miami East, which trailed, 27-7, after one quarter.

Wayne 71, Beavercreek 52: Miya Dunson scored 14 points and Destiny Bohanon 13 for Wayne (3-1, 2-0). Carmen Williams led Beavercreek (4-2, 1-1) with 14.

Catholic Central 64, Legacy Christian 46: Thomas Kavanagh (23), Sabien Doolittle (14) and Cossy Catanzaro (10) all reached double figues for Catholic Central.

Emmanuel Christian 38, Granville Christian 36: Thomas Mullins hit a 5-foot jumper at the buzzer to give Emmanuel Christian (2-1) the win despite trailing the entire game until tying the score with 22 seconds to play. Adonis Davis scored 12 and Fred Shropshire 11 for Emmanuel Christian, which outscored Granville Christian, 13-4, in the fourth quarter.

Greeneview 51, East Clinton 35: Nathan Bradds had a double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Mason Schneider scored 21 as Greeneview improved to 4-0.

Beavercreek 63, Carroll 15: Seven Beavercreek wrestlers won by pin in less than a minute.

Edgewood Invitational: Miamisburg finished sixth as Sebastian Beachler remained undefeated (10-0). Dixie's Cameron Coffman was 4-0 with four pins at 285 pounds, teammate Steven Brown 3-1 with three pins and a runnerup finish.

Ironman Tournament: Graham finished fourth with 116 points. Mitch Moore placed second, Kavan Sarver third, Ryan Thomas fourth and JD Stickley seventh.

London Tournament: Ely Serna of West Liberty-Salem won with four pins at 170 pounds. Teammatte Tanner Workman won at 126.

Oak Hills Duals: Vandalia won all five of its matches at the Oak Hills Duals, including a 42-36 defeat of the host team.
