HS Results 12/5: Xenia, Sidney boys combine for 17 3-pointers

In an offensively dominated GWOC game, the Xenia and Sidney boys basketball team combined for 17 three point shots on the night.

Xenia ultimately took the win, besting Sidney 73-67.

Xenia went 12-for-21 on free throws and combined for seven 3-pointers.

Samari Curtis led the effort for Xenia, amassing 31 points, including nine off of 3-pointers. Jay Evans tacked on 11 points, with nine of his coming in a similar fashion.

Sidney shot for 10 3-pointers, going 9-for-15 from the free throw line as a team.

Andre Gordon led Sidney with 37 points, tallying 18 off of three point shots.

Ratez Roberts rounded out the scoring for Sidney with 14 more points.

Boys Basketball

Anna 99, New Bremen 90, OT: In an overtime thriller, Wyatt Bensman came out on top, shooting 34 points for Anna. Bensman had three 3-pointers and went 13-for-18 on free throws. Grant Hoehne led NB with 30 points, while Nolan Bornhorst was close behind with 26.

Graham 61, Triad 41: Matt Goddard earned 16 points in the Graham win. Hadley LeVan continued his scoring streak, tallying 23 points as he went 11-for-17 from the free throw line.

Miamisburg 55, Carroll 46: Brett Hensley and Jason Hubbard each tallied 14 points for Miamisburg in their win. Eli Ramsey and Matt Cogan netted 15 a piece in the loss.

New Miami 67, St. Bernard 62: Deanza Duncan led New Miami with 21 points on the night. The brother duo of Trey and Jordan Robinette tacked on 15 points and 13 points respectively for NM. Michail Flowers tallied 17 points in the SB loss.

Ponitz 95, Jefferson 28: Jaren Smith tallied 24 points for Ponitz, while Eric Sealey tacked on 14. Thomas Herron netted 15 points in the Jefferson loss.

Preble Shawnee 67, Eaton 36: Levi Lewis led the way with 15 points for PS. Austin Moore tacked on 12 points, while Tyler Worley sunk two 3-pointers and earned a total of 10 points in the win. Grant Sullender netted 18 points in the loss, nine of which came from 3-point shots.

Springboro 57, Fairborn 46: Shaunn Monroe tallied 25 points, but it wasn’t quite enough to earn Fairborn the W. Kaleb Tabor tallied 13 points for ‘Boro, sinking one 3-pointer and going 2-for-2 from the free throw line. Michael Berner tacked on 12 points and went 4-for-8.

St. Xavier’s 76, Middletown 53: Aaron Jones sunk four 3-pointers for Middletown, but it wasn’t enough to top St. Xavier’s Nathan Stockman’s 36 points and 15-for-22 free throw success.

Taylor 66, Talawanda 62, OT: Evan James netted 16 points, amassing 16 rebounds in the Talawanda loss. Jacob Haussler led Taylor with 25 points.

Valley View 56, Twin Valley South 48: Clayton Erbaugh netted 21 points to lead VV, shooting two 3-pointers to get there. Ben Herman tacked on 13 points with two 3-pointers to secure the VV win. Travis Lovely led TVS with 19 points, while Willie Bowman chipped in 17.

Xenia 73, Sidney 67: Andre Gordon amassed 37 points, including six 3-pointers in the Sidney loss. Samari Curtis countered with 31 points for Xenia, shooting three 3-pointers. Jay Evans tacked on an additional three 3-pointers, tallying 11 points overall.

Yellow Springs 87, Greenon 61: Elias Harris had an outstanding offensive night, putting up 28 points for YS, earning 21 from the 3-point line. Logan Coppock netted 21 points in the Greenon loss.

Girls Basketball

Bellbrook 74, Brookville 24: Cassidy Hofacker shot for 19 points for Bellbrook in the win. Bekah Vine added on 15. Christina Bronnier led the Blue Devils with six points in their loss.

Carlisle 45, Cin. Reading 13: Christa Harris led Carlisle with 16 points on the night.

Minster 35, Fort Loramie 26: No players reached double digits on the night, but Minster’s Courtney Prenger led overall with nine points. Taylor Kogge tacked on eight in the Minster victory. Kennedi Gephart tallied seven for FL.

St. Marys 40, Lima Central Catholic 23: Clare Caywood scored 11 points for St. Marys in the victory. Caywood also sunk one 3-pointer and went 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

Triad 60, Ridgemont 54: Emma Vanninem led the way with 18 points for Triad. Priscilla Howland netted 21 for Ridgemont.

Versailles 83, Arcanum 49: Kami McEldowney netted 16 points for Versailles in the win. Trailing by just two points, Kayla O’Daniel scored 14 in Arcanum’s loss.

Boys Bowling

Lebanon 2240, Xenia 2157: Gabe Taulbee rolled a 445 series to help lead Lebanon to their second win of the year. Trevor Bottles chipped in a 427. James McDaniel led Xenia with a 443 series.

Miamisburg 2049, Little Miami 2044: Caleb Witt struck out in the 10th frame to win the match for Miamisburg. Witt bowled games of 223 and 220.

Girls Bowling

Ben Logan 2077, Northwestern 1962: Erica Warne rolled 210 and 175 games to lead BL with a 385 series.

Miamisburg 2199, Little Miami 1234: Crissy Journell led the lady Vikings with games of 257 and 245 for a 502 series, tying the Miamisburg school record.

West Liberty-Salem 2027, Southeastern 1922: Hailee Clifford and Katie Rollins each shot career high games in the WLS win. Clifford rolled a 245 and added a 139 for a 384 series. Rollins bowled a 215 and a 147 for a 361.

Xenia 2091, Lebanon 2054: Amanda Rearick and Jessie Stultz each bowled a 362 for Lebanon in their first loss of the season. Caity Moody rolled a 440 series, while Kailee Palecek tacked on a 425 to move Xenia to 3-1.
