Fairmont grad Kathyrn Westbeld notched a double-double Friday night to help Notre Dame rout Ohio State 99-76 in the Sweet 16.

Westbeld, a 6-foot-2 forward, scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. It was the second double-double of the season for the 2014 Fairmont grad.

Westbeld’s high school teammate — Makayla Waterman — scored six points off the bench for the Buckeyes. Kelsey Mitchell led Ohio State (28-7) with 18 points.

Up next for Westbeld and top-seeded Notre Dame (33-3) is second-seeded Stanford in Sunday’s regional final. The Cardinal (31-5) knocked off Texas 77-66 in Friday’s second game.

Sunday’s matchup will feature another Greater Western Ohio Conference reunion. Centerville grad Shannon Coffee is a sophomore center for the Cardinal. She averages 2.2 points per game in a reserve role.
