Toddler hit by car backing out of driveway in Dayton

A toddler suffered serious injuries Wednesday afternoon when he was struck by a car backing out of a driveway in Dayton.

Crews responded at 4:22 p.m. to the 4500 block of Bluehaven Drive on a report a child was hit by a vehicle, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch records.

A 39-year-old man was backing a 2006 Buick Lucerne out of a driveway and hit the 1-year-old boy, who was behind the car, according to a crash report filed by the Dayton Police Department.

Dayton medics transported the boy to Dayton Children’s Hospital.

No other injuries were reported.
