125th anniversary of the Dayton Daily News

In 1898, James Cox purchased the struggling Dayton Evening News and changed its name to the Dayton Daily News. That began a journey which continues today of service and important journalism in our community.

Throughout 2023, we’ll be celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Dayton Daily News and Cox Enterprises Inc., which continues to be operated the fourth generation of the family.
