Air Force general, bioscience leaders part of coalition panel

The Dayton Development Coalition’s 2017 annual meeting will feature a panel that includes an Air Force general as well as a bio-science executive and entrepreneur, among others.

The panel will include: U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Mark Koeniger, commander of the 711th Human Performance Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The wing researches human performance and integration for air, space, and cyberspace needs.

The wing operates at seven sites, with its two major locations being the Dayton area’s Wright-Patterson and Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Dr. David Smith, chief executive of the Community Blood and Tissue Services, will also be part of the panel.

As CEO, Dr. Smith oversees a blood center and a global tissue graft provider, serving patients in the 25 hospital and health centers in the CBC’s 15-county area in Southwestern Ohio and Eastern Indiana.

Other panelists include Stephen Rozow, leader of global process transformation for NuVasive, a spinal care products company that last year opened a West Carrollton manufacturing facility, and Joe D’Silva, founder and CEO of Patients’ & Consumers’ Pharma in Centerville.

Sharon Howard, site manager of public relations and community relations with Miami Valley Hospital of the Premier Health system, will moderate the panel.

The meeting will open for networking at 3 p.m. Jan 31 in the Wintergarden of the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center at Second and Main streets in downtown Dayton.

Doors will open for networking at 3 p.m., the program will begin at 3:45 p.m. and run until 5 p.m. A reception will follow the event.
