Aldi is joining Meijer, Kroger, Amazon Prime and others in the burgeoning business of delivering groceries to customers’ doors in select cities.

Aldi on Monday announced a partnership with Instacart, the on-demand grocery delivery service.

Starting later this month, Aldi will launch the service in Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles, with “potential for future expansion,” the company said in a release.

“Our partnership with Instacart is another example of Aldi expanding our commitment to customer convenience and value,” Jason Hart, Aldi chief executive, said in the company’s statement.

Customers fill online carts by visiting Instacart.com or downloading the Instacart mobile app. At checkout, customers choose a delivery window that works with their schedule, anywhere from an hour or up to a week later. Instacart's personal shoppers do the delivering.

Aldi has stories on West Third Street, East Dorothy Lane and Brandt Pike, as well as West Carrollton, Beavercreek, Franklin and elsewhere in the area.
