Like last year, Amazon plans to transition thousands of holiday positions to regular, full-time roles after the holidays are over. The 120,000 seasonal positions Amazon will fill this year is on par with its holiday hiring in 2016.
Amazon Ohio openings for positions in Cincinnati, Fairfield, Akron and Columbus currently posted online, among other locations. Amazon will be hiring for the holidays in more than 30 states, according to the company.
Online holiday shopping is expected to increase by 16 percent this year, according to a recent survey. The increase means around 82 percent of shoppers will buy their gifts online this holiday season.

Those stats put Amazon, one of the world’s largest retailers, stands to benefit from that bump in online shopping.
In August this year, Amazon hosted a national hiring day at several of its locations where the online retailer offered applicants jobs on the spot. The company hosted the event in an effort to fill 40,000 full-time positions and 10,000 part-time jobs, according to Amazon.
