The launch comes a week before the start of Amazon Prime Day, a “Black Friday in July” online shopping holiday started by Amazon, which has been picked up by other online retailers offering their own days of deals.

“The nationwide rollout of the Amazon Returns program is our single biggest initiative of the year,” said Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief executive officer. “Our top strategic priority is driving traffic, and this transformational program does just that. It drives customers into our stores, and we are expecting millions to benefit from this service.”
Customers who want to return Amazon purchases through Kohl’s should log the return with Amazon’s online return center and select the Kohl’s dropoff option. Amazon will email shoppers a QR code that will be scanned once they arrive at the Kohl’s location.

Kohl’s then takes the item and packages it with a label, returning it to an Amazon returns center for free.
Amazon also recently announced a partnership with Rite Aid, which will roll out at 1,500 stores by the end of the year. Online shoppers will be able to pick up their Amazon orders at Rite Aid stores rather than have them delivered to home addresses.
The new partnership is part of a larger retail trend of buying online and picking up in store. It could also prevent theft from “porch pirates” that steal packages when they’re delivered on door steps while residents are away.
