Aspen Dental to open clinic in Huber Heights

Aspen Dental will open a new practice this fall in a 3,200-square-foot building currently under construction at 8321 Old Troy Pike, according to Huber Heights city officials and an Aspen Dental spokeswoman.

The site previously housed an El Toro Mexican restaurant and before that Kenny Rogers chicken restaurant, according to Trisha Reents, economic development assistant for Huber Heights.

No firm opening date has been set yet, but Aspen Dental expects the clinic to open in the fourth quarter of 2012, said Kasey Pickett, spokeswoman for the Syracuse, N.Y. chain. Aspen Dental operates 340 locations in 22 states, including 40 in Ohio. This is the fifth Dayton-area location, joining dental practices in Beavercreek, Miamisburg, Springfield, and Troy. No other Dayton-area offices are currently planned, but new Aspen practices are under development in the Cincinnati and Columbus areas, Pickett said.

The Huber Heights location will employ about 10 people, including dentists, a hygienist, dental assistants, a lab technician, an office manager and patient service representative, Pickett said. The new practice will have an on-site denture lab, she said.

The construction cost was not disclosed.

Aspen Dental practices offer extended hours, including evenings and some Saturdays, and accepts walk-in and emergency patients, Pickett said.
