Austin Landing adds TJ Maxx, Homegoods

TJ Maxx and HomeGoods will open stores this fall in the Austin Landing development near Interstate 75 and Austin Road, RG Properties, the developer of Austin Landing, announced this morning.

The two stores “are welcome additions for that piece of the village focused on value retail,” Misty Sirch, director of retail portfolio management for RG Properties, said in a news release.

TJX, the parent company for TJ Maxx and HomeGoods, signed a lease for 45,000 square feet, and the two stores will split the space, RG Properties officials said. Construction is underway, and the stores are scheduled to open in September.

TJX has moved toward co-locating stores so the company can capitalize on its stores’ shared customer base, according to RG Properties officials. The existing TJ Maxx store near the Dayton Mall at 131 Springboro Road (Ohio 741), Miamisburg will close around the time the new Austin Landing store opens.

A Kroger grocery store, a Kohl’s department store, three office buildings and a parking garage already opened at the $150 million Austin Landing development at Ohio 741 and Austin Road. A 125-room Hilton Garden Inn with a 350-person conference center is scheduled to open by March 15. The development will also include a park, ice rink, stores, restaurants and more than 100 residences, all of which are scheduled to be in place by the end this year. A 14-screen Regal cinema with a 60-foot entrance is in the works as well.

The two new retailers will be located in the southeast corner of the Austin Landing development, south of Kohl’s, where RG Properties is developing approximately 77,000 square feet of retail space, the development company said.
