The state did not receive a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice Act) notice of the closing, an official with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services said Friday.
Harris also said the owner of the center has listed it for sale or lease.
Avenue Stores, LLC, a women’s clothing retailer, is closing 222 stores in 33 states.
That includes 12 retail sites in Ohio — including stores in Beavercreek and Huber Heights.

The distribution center was not identified in a company list of sites to be closed.
The center sold in January to RD Dayton LLC for more than $13 million. The seller was Ornatus URG Real Estate LLC (or Avenue Stores LLC), records indicated at the time the sale was recorded.
Price reductions of 30 to 50 percent off lowest ticketed prices will be offered to Avenue customers on all merchandise, Hilco Merchant Resources said in a press release Thursday.

All items, brands and store fixtures are being sold, Hilco’s release said.
Retail store sales are being conducted by a joint venture consisting of Gordon Brothers and Hilco Merchant Resources, the release noted.
