GE Aviation wins $19.5 million contract for Air Force work

GE Aviation in Cincinnati was just awarded a nearly $20 million contract for work on the F138 aircraft engine.

The Department of Defense late Monday announced a $19,429,512 firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for sustaining engineering, program management and field service support for the F-138 engine. The F138 is the propulsion system for the Lockheed Martin C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft.

Work will be performed across the country — at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware; Lackland Air Force Base, Texas; Robins Air Force Base, Georgia; Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma; Travis Air Force Base, California; Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; and Westover Air Force Base, Mass. Work is expected to be completed by Sept. 5, 2024.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Tinker Air Force Base is the contracting activity.
