Bon-Ton Stores raises more than $100K for Red Cross

Bon-Ton Stores Inc., parent of Elder-Beerman department stores, has raised more than $100,000 through customer donations for American Red Cross Midwest tornadoes and storm relief, company officials announced.

The company raised $113,200 from Nov. 19-27 to support the nonprofit volunteer organization that supports victims in need during times of disaster, officials said.

Customers were given the opportunity to donate $3 to the American Red Cross in exchange for a discounted purchase coupon.

Bon-Ton Stores in May leased 160,000 square feet of a 200,000-square-foot building on South Gettysburg Avenue in Moraine for distribution work.

Elder-Beerman has area stores in Beavercreek, Huber Heights, Kettering, Middletown, Miamisburg and Piqua.
