Booz Allen CEO to retire

The top executive at a Virginia-based defense contractor with an office in Kettering will retire at the end of the year, company officials announced.

Ralph Shrader, Booz Allen Hamilton Inc.’s chief executive officer, will retire Dec. 31, officials said. Shrader, who spent 40 years with the firm, will continue to serve as chairman of the board of directors.

In connection with Shrader’s retirement, Horatio D. Rozanski was appointed chief executive, effective Jan. 1, 2015. Rozanski currently serves as Booz Allen’s president and chief operating officer.

Headquartered in McLean, Va., Booz Allen employs about 23,000 people, including about 400 in Kettering.
