Cabela’s giving away gift cards at Thursday’s grand opening

Cabela’s will open the doors of its new Centerville store at 10 a.m. Thursday and mark the rest of the week with entertainment, giveaways and other events.

The first 500 customers in line (18 and older) Thursday will receive gifts cards valued between $10 and $500.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held before the doors open at the Cornerstone at Centerville store, the third Cabela’s to open in Ohio. The ribbon will be “cut” by an arrow shot from a bow by a Cabela’s employee.

The outdoor store’s first day also will feature a live performance by country music artist Lucas Hoge and appearances by television and radio host Laura Lynn.

The first 50 customers through the door Friday will receive a Cabela’s utility bag, and the first 50 on Saturday get a Cabela’s cap. The first 50 customers Sunday get a Cabela’s tripod stool.

Customers 18 and older also can register to win a $1,000 Cabela’s shopping spree or a GoPro action camera.

There will be appearances by other TV personalities and outdoors experts through the weekend. The GEICO NASCAR show car will be on display on Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.

Eva Shockey, co-host of “Jim Shockey’s Hunting Adventures,” will be at the store from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Chris and Casey Keeker, co-hosts of “Dropped: Project Alaska” and “Rival Wild” are among the other special guests.
