Combustion work brings in millions for Dayton firms

Two local companies have won millions in expanded contracts for work on combustion technology, the Department of Defense said late Monday.

Innovative Scientific Solutions Inc., of Dayton, has been awarded a contract ceiling increase of $8,442,387 to a previously awarded contract for sustained supersonic combustion technology, the DoD said.

The work will be performed in Dayton and is expected to be completed by Oct. 22, 2020. The total cumulative face value of the contract is $26,342,387, according to the Pentagon. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), based at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, is the contracting activity.

Also in Dayton, Taitech Inc., has been awarded a ceiling increase of $5,266,897, again for work on sustained supersonic combustion technology for AFRL.

Work will again be performed locally and has the same expected finish date. The total cumulative face value of the contract is $19,186,897.
