Dayton-based PSA Airlines will add an additional crew base at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in D.C.

PSA currently operates 55 daily flights from Ronald Reagan airport. That number had grown nearly 400 percent since November 2014, and the company expects that amount to continue to grow.

“Today’s announcement is proof of our growth and stability and further positions PSA as the airline of choice for the best aviators in the business,” said Dion Flannery, president of PSA Airlines.

PSA Airlines operates an all-jet fleet consisting of exclusively Bombardier regional jet aircraft. The company’s more than 2,500 employees operate nearly 700 daily flights to nearly 90 destinations.

In November, the airline announced it was expanding its compensation program for new-hire pilots. PSA now offers up to $60,000 for pilots with a rating on CRJ-type planes.

Qualifying pilots starting with the company can receive more than $21,000 immediately, and can benefit further by an additional $3,000 with a commuter hotel allowance program implemented earlier this year, the airline said.

Headquartered in Dayton, the company has a fleet of about 150 aircraft.
